Whatever you decide to do, the intensity of that never remains same with time. So, Review your goals and vision for life every day. Please write down all answers of these questions and try to read it at least once in a day, this will help you to stay focused and productive. So, the idea is to review your life goals once in a day. These questions can help you to design your life goals, try to write down their answers in a dairy.
What do you believe you’re capable of in life?
What do you wish you could change about the world?
What kinds of people do you want to be surrounded by?
What are the greatest things you could accomplish, given the right circumstances, resources and motivation?
What life do you want to have lived at age 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80?
What could you contribute to the world that would make you feel proud and content?
When you die, what would you want people to say and remember about you?
Goals which you want to achieve within 1 to 2 years are generally referred as medium-term goals. if u review your goals again and again your system can give you appropriate feedback how much you have done and what is left so that you can review your plan, and reschedule your action steps and to do list. Small term goals are generally referred to the goals which you set up for a month or a week’s time. When you set up your short-term targets you need to devote Every Sunday for at least 2 to 3 hours to practice this process.
Goals which you set for next 24 hours are called Immediate Goals. These are the most important goals you need to focus on, and always keep in the mind that all immediate goals must be synced with your short, medium, long term and life goals, always arrange your immediate goals in the priority list. You must review your immediate goals at least in every quarter of the day; we called this technique 8 quadrant review technique. This is such a wonderful way to help you keep wonderful focus.
Keep Saturday as a revision day
As a student when you are practicing review strategies you need to setup your weekly goals and divide them on daily basis. Importance strategy is that every Saturday should be your revision day whatever you are learning in a week you must revise is every Saturday when try to avoid anything new on Saturdays just right to recall as much as you can maybe the last week last month last three months right to recall as much as you can on every Saturday.
Every Sunday, Check Your Knowledge Level
Devote Sundays to give yourself personal assessment Sunday at least give two to three hours to self test yourself if you are doing well you can have a wonderful confidence otherwise it can burst many of your myths.
80:20 Principles as a Revision Strategy
Under this principle the scientists say that we should give 80% time to study. If you are preparing for an examination and studying 10 hours a day then you should study for 8 hours and do the practice of review for 2 hours i.e. 20%. Your weekly and monthly study plan should be like this. Likewise we should give full 1 day to review after studying 6 days in a week. We shall find that our self-confidence goes on increasing after every review continuously and this is very important element in knowledge building.
Plan for the Next Day / Proactive
Preview is as important as review. Review is the process in which you revise what you have done; preview is the reverse process where you visualize what you are going to do. This is a future planning where you try to visualize each and every important detail in your mind of what you are going to do, why you are going to do that, and how you will do it, at appropriate time frame. Preview help your subconscious and unconscious mind to stay focused. This process helps you to attain the priceless skill that is being a proactive person. If you practice this enough you will be able to create solutions of the problems on time or even before they rise.
Behavioral Review, tool for self empowerment
Behavior review is also wonderful thing which can help you to be better every day. Most of the time people react and respond to life in a very unconscious way. Life is just going on and on and we have very less control over it, whenever something unexpected happens, we react with shock and surprise. Most of the time when situation Rises suddenly we don’t have an appropriate time window to analyze and choose our response consciously so we respond and react immediately. These responses and reactions is our behavior about life, which either can build a life or can destroy life. The behavior review strategy suggests that every night before going to the bed you must recreate and visualize that situation where you didn’t respond well. Think of the right kind of behavior which you could show at that moment, try to recreate and feel like what nice could happen if you would have shown conscious and well thought behavior.
Keep practicing and do review on time so you can fill the gaps between retention and retrieval, so that you can be more effective as active learner and attain what you have decided for yourself.
